Soy wax is a type of vegetable wax obtained by 100% hydrogenation of soybean oil. Recently, its use in candle production has been increasing. Soy wax, which is softer and has a lower melting point than petroleum waxes, is generally used in the production of container candles due to these properties. It can also be used in the production of pillar candles by blending with other wax types such as petroleum wax, beeswax and palm wax.
Soy wax is completely biodegradable compared to non-biodegradable paraffin wax.
